Stacking The Odds In Your Favor

October 10, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

DF2Fall is upon us once more. And so it begins that, with summer over and the days getting shorter, we wish to ease into more consistent actions that create personal health and fitness.

Unfortunately, with the cooler weather and holidays approaching, many will begin taking in sweets and junk foods and the like. Along with this first insult to the body systems, some folks will allow the busier schedule of the holiday season to be yet another reason for slacking off on their exercise.

In all, these misplaced actions send the body into a tailspin. The body is not able to keep up with the onslaught of over-eating, eating poor quality foods, and not getting the exercise or sleep that the body actually craves at this time!

The final result is that after January 1st, the reckoning time comes when you look at yourself in the mirror and admit you need to do something about how awful you feel. ‘Where did those extra ten to fifteen pounds come from,’ you naively ask? It is as if you didn’t want to take responsibility for your actions through the holiday season by pleading ignorance.

It’s as if you’re standing in front of your subconscious saying, “I swear your honor, I didn’t know that eating all those extra sweets, and fatty foods, and alcohol, along with not doing my exercise, was going to put on all this weight and make me feel so horrible!”

Now that we have imagined what will happen if you allow yourself to let go, let’s design some simple steps to keep you, not only on track with your health and fitness, but also accelerate your results.

How would it feel if, on January 2nd, you looked in the mirror and saw a lean, healthy, strong and vibrant body?

I know exactly what you would feel. You would have such a sense of accomplishment and pride in yourself for sticking to your guns and doing what you knew was right.

Let’s stack the odds in your favor so that you have this amazing experience come January 2nd.

  1. Get very clear on what you want your body and health to be like. It does not matter where you start. Write your goals down and put them in the present tense as if you already have it right now.
  2. Every morning, afternoon and evening you will take 5-10 minutes to visualize what a healthy body feels like as if you already have it.
  3. Make a list of the simple actions you must take to assure you don’t get caught off guard.
  4. Prepare all meals ahead of time for daily consumption. You could even make everything in one weekend and freeze some of it!
  5. Make sure to bring food with you to work and play.
  6. Bring 2-3 quarts of filtered water with you every day. Make sure to drink it.
  7. Get quality sleep – Bed by 10pm, wake at 6am.
  8. Exercise everyday – even if you only have time for walking.
  9. Always eat before going out to a party so that you are not tempted to eat all the high carb, fatty, sodium and sugar filled foods.
  10. When you find your thoughts drifting to negative ideas, recognize that they are only a product of past experiences. Now is the time for you to create a new reality in which you are in control of your thoughts, feelings and actions.

Remember you must take responsibility to create this healthy, fit, vibrant life. You already have all it takes. It is now time to use your God-given abilities to see that the autumn season is actually a new beginning!

Here is a complimentary webinar to get you started. I would love to help you on your journey of health and wellness.

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!

Three Choices Determine Your Happiness, Health & Wellness

March 14, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

Three choices will determine your outcome of happiness, health and wellness. Fotolia_44473554_Subscription_XL

Every moment of the day we are making choices. Do we get up out of bed on time, do we eat a healthy breakfast, do we focus on what we want to achieve, do we make the best choices for creating the life we dream of?

Making choices that move us towards our desires instead of away are something only we have control over.  No one else can force us into our decisions. It is, as it always has been, our responsibility. Now for some that seems like a heavy burden to carry, however I would gently suggest it is a gift.

You truly don’t want someone else making your choices for you. If you allow this you are in effect giving them your power, and you now become a servant to their decisions.

So what are these three choices? Let’s take a look at them one at a time. As we discuss each choice I want you to think about the choices you made today and see what category they fall into. Then I want you to consider the outcome of your choices and how they will affect you whether in a day a week, a month, or a year.

My mentor Paul Chek taught me this and it awaken within me how great our choices can affect our lives. It gave me an appreciation of the power of choice, and the responsibility to take full advantage of this power. So now I share it with you.

Our optimum choice in any situation is one that takes into consideration the greater good of not only my desires but also everyone it will affect. An optimum choice is the best choice to bring about results towards our goals and desires. An optimum choice will always be supported by your intuition. Your higher self will tell you the optimum choice.

Once you start truly following your inner voice you will realize you are always doing the right things. Yes there will be times when the optimum choice means having to do more work and not cutting corners or taking the easy way out, but as we will discuss, those less than optimum choices come with consequences, and usually don’t save us any time or effort.

Our second choice is a sub-optimum decision to handle something. We know right away this is not optimum because our inner guidance is already telling us this is a short cut, which doesn’t feel right. Now most of us try to ignore this guidance and make reasonable excuses why we shouldn’t have to make the best choice. Low and behold these sub-optimum choices almost always come with a painful lesson, which teaches us “You should have listened to me in the first place and you would have avoided all this frustration”.

How about making a commitment to yourself to start eating healthy. The optimum choice when going out to dinner with friends is to order a quality meal and only eat small portions while skipping desert and all the wine. Instead we decide “heck no, I am out with friends and it to hard to make the optimum choice so I’m just going to enjoy myself and eat what I want”. With this sub-optimum choice comes the consequences of weight gain, low self-esteem, creating a pattern of failure in the sub conscious, a hangover from too much alcohol, and let’s throw in some day after digestive problems. All this due to one sub-optimum choice. Now just multiply this through your days and see where you are causing your desired results to get off track.

The good thing about sub-optimum choices is they teach us a lesson so we can then correct our decision-making the next time.

The last choice is one of apathy or indifference. Due to overwhelm, pain, or just laziness many times we decide not to decide. We choose not to choose. We say” the heck with it, I not going to do anything”. What we need to realize is that even when we decide not to make a choice we are making a choice. So you cannot escape the process. The only difference is with optimum and sub-optimum choices you are taking responsibility to handle a situation while with indifference you are ignoring your responsibility. When we ignore an issue it will always come back to bite us. Sometimes big, sometimes small and in most cases it is just postponing the inevitable pain of a now bigger more pressing issue, which will take much more effort to resolve.

So you see it is always best to make the optimum choice even though there will be times when it is challenging. One thing I promise you is this. Optimum choices will always create a sense of strength and confidence, and rightness of character within you, and as you continue to make those optimum choices your results will exponentially increase until you reach your goals.

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!

Springtime – Creating the New You!

March 10, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

Dieting concept. Young Woman choosing between Fruits and SweetsJust as the earth moves through cycles of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, we too are meant to move through these same cycles.

We are a system within the earth’s systems. We are interdependent upon the cycles of the earth, and we ourselves are a system of interdependent systems.

It is fascinating to look upon life itself from the expansiveness of the universe all the way down to the cellular level, as one grand interdependent system of life.

These cycles of birth, growth, slowing down, and transcendence are found everywhere we look. You will find these cycles in bacteria, viruses, in the soil, in plants, reptiles, animals, and in us. It is the cycle of life, the cycle of energy, the cycle of consciousness.

In the earth’s cycle, Spring is a time of birth, or even rebirth. For there to be a birth there should have been a time of transition, death, or rest. This transition period is important to allow for healing. A time to go dormant. The cycle of life is not about a steady climb up, but instead about a gentle wave of growth and maturity.

During this season, our bodies are meant to rest more. Just think of the shorter days and less sunlight. We actually feel the need to rest more in our bodies.

Ah, but not long after our rest, we awake with a new sense of purpose. It is Spring, and we see all the possibilities of the time ahead. We feel inspired to do more. The days are getting longer, our energy seems to increase, and we are ready to take on more challenges.

So are you ready to take on those new challenges? Have you given any thought to what you desire your life to be? How about your health and wellness? You didn’t forget about getting healthier did you?

When it comes to health and fitness, just like any other aspect of your life, we need to clear out the old habits, mind-set, eating behaviors, and inactivity that have stopped us in the past from transforming our lives. Then we need to give ourselves the gift of a new lifestyle of health and wellness.

We must die to the old unhealthy lifestyle and transcend, or rise, into a new healthy, happy, lifestyle.

Believe it or not, that’s all it takes. It’s no different from a smoker who after twenty years decides, “I don’t smoke any more.” The smoker quits just like that. All the other smokers in the world say, “How the heck did that person just quit so effortlessly?”

Well, it is a matter of who the person now believes himself/herself to be. This person changed how they saw themselves. They no longer know themselves as a smoker, even though they smoked for twenty years.

They got rid of the old lifestyle, and replaced it with a new one. They transcended the old and rose to the new.

This is how all change in life happens. It can happen overnight or take a slower path. It is completely up to the individual to believe they are this new, transcended state of being.

It is springtime folks. It is nature’s time to begin to express its full potential once more after its rest. So, too, it is our time to express our full potential. It is a time for growth – spiritually, mentally and physically. It is time to transcend your old ways of lack, fear, unworthiness, doubt, and procrastination and rebirth yourself as a new person who lives a life of health, happiness, and wellness.

Just as the tiny seed already knows it is a giant Redwood, you already know, deep within, you are meant to be a healthy, happy, well person. Most importantly you will find within yourself the blueprint to be this amazing person.

Clear out all your old thoughts of unworthiness, fear, and doubt. Create a new way of thinking. Who do you want to be? Decide what that looks like, and begin to know yourself as that person and only that person. Do not look back on the old self. Only see yourself as the new life. Follow what your intuition tells you to do. At first, this can be challenging because you’re not used to doing this. However, the more you trust and believe your intuition, the more you will create the new you.

You must now begin to believe in yourself. Nurture your spirit, mind and body, and you will become that which you desire.

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!

Starting Fresh

December 30, 2013 by Dave Fresilli

First I would like to extend a warm and Happy New Year to everyone. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season.

Some of us in the northern hemisphere are going to be donning coats and gloves for a few more months, while others get to bask in the warmth of the sun.

No matter where you are, it is a time for renewal. What a perfect time to look forward and create even more health and wellness for 2014.

Ask yourself, “How much more can I improve my health? How fit can I become? What would I really like to achieve this year?”

It is good to remind ourselves that no matter what we have or have not done in the past, it has no bearing on what we do from this moment forward.

Why not dream big? What is it you want to create?

If you are stuck for an answer, try this: Ask yourself “How would it feel to be really healthy? How would it feel to be really happy? How would it feel to have an overwhelming sense of wellbeing?”

Before you ask these questions, quiet yourself down and close your eyes. Then ask the question(s). Give yourself time to feel what it would be like to feel healthy, happy, well.

Most folks start the New Year with best intentions but no true connection to what they want to create.

We see it every January when the gyms are full of people who are dieting, working out, and putting all that effort into what? Getting healthy?

But you see, most, if not all, have no idea what that really means for them, or better said, they have no idea what that is supposed to feel like.

When you go within and begin to feel what it would be like to be healthy and happy, your subconscious will effortlessly respond. It already knows, even if you have never felt it yourself. This may seem ridiculous, but in fact you are tapping into your higher self which knows no limitation.

Let go of the resistance and fear of what is possible for you. You can be healthy and happy.

Our bodies are designed to heal themselves and be vibrant. They do the best they can, but you have to help by integrating just a few simple steps as part of your lifestyle.

It is so easy that most folks ignore them and think they have to beat themselves up on a treadmill or lift heavy weights.

I would suggest putting down all the fitness magazines with photos of fitness models doing exercises. Also stop trying the next-best diet. Stop listening to people at the gym, and for goodness sake, stop listening to infomercials.

Here are the six fundamental factors to health and wellness. They may seem familiar. Well, if they do that’s because I have given them to you in previous articles. The question is: Have you been listening and integrating them into your life?

Are you ready? Let’s start a new year.

  1. Happy thoughts! – You must focus on bringing joy into your life. Contemplate what makes you happy. Let go of thoughts that cause pain, fear, anxiety, and drag you down.
  2. Breathe – Proper breathing heals. You’re doing it anyway, so why not do it right? Look into diaphragmatic breathing.
  3. Hydration – Drink water! Half your body weight in ounces everyday is a start, more is better. Nothing else replaces water. Not coffee, not tea, not SODA, or fruit juices.
  4. Nutrition – Only whole foods. Please, if you are not sure of this, visit my blogs.
  5. Sleep – Do not skimp on sleep. That is when your body heals and recovers from all you put it through.
  6. Movement – Your bodies are meant to move. Go easy at first and pay attention to posture and form of the exercise. If you are a beginner, hire a qualified trainer.

So what is your new life for 2014 going to be? It is up to you to decide and then step forward into it.

Everything you’ve done in the past is in the past. No need to do them again.

How about a new you, a fresh you.

I am here to help.

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!
