Hard Decisions Lead To An Easier Life

December 17, 2014 by Regina Cates

Banner for SSRCOften it is the hard decisions you make that lead to an easier life.

Recently someone I know was fired from a horrible job working with rude and mean people. Over the past two years she allowed herself to be used and abused. It became harder and harder to go to work, yet she continued to remain in a situation in which she had absolutely no control or power. She did not have a back-up plan. Instead of finding another position, a distorted sense of loyalty and fear kept her from taking action to move on.

I completely understand. At one time, I worked for a shady organization. I caught my boss stealing money from a fundraising event that I had designed but he had taken the credit for. He was also accused of sexually assaulting a fellow employee, plus a variety of other offenses. Management refused to address the issues because they were guilty of the same things.

Each day it became more difficult for me to go to work. My heart actually hurt when I walked into the office. One day I could not stand it anymore. No matter how much I needed the money, I refused to sell myself short any longer. The moment I decided to quit, some wonderfully positive energy seemed to align itself with me. Within a month, a great position working with good people came along. The energy I put out attracted similar energy.

Once I had transitioned out of the bad job, I realized that my sense of powerlessness and fear had been generated by thinking I had to keep the awful job. When I released the dread of not knowing what I would do to get a new source of income, something beyond my power began to work on my behalf.

If you are stuck in a negative situation, sit down in a quiet place and honestly ask yourself what you really want. If you’re like most people, as soon as you articulate what you want, an excuse for why you can’t have it will pop up. Release the apprehension of not knowing exactly how you will reach your goal. Remain focused. If fear returns, instead of allowing negative thoughts to consume you, take one action toward improving your situation. Keep moving forward in faith, and patiently watch for the opening of a new door. Then courageously walk through. Have confidence that the optimistic energy you put out will come back to you. The longer you stay in a negative situation, whether it is a bad job or an abusive relationship, the more you break your heart. Nothing is worth that.

One of the best lessons we learn is that if something or someone does not feel right it is a sure sign we need to turn around and walk away. It’s not necessarily easy, but by doing nothing we are guaranteed that nothing will happen. To change our situation we must act and have faith in the truth it is often the hard decisions we have to make that lead to an easier life.

Feng Shui Simply

December 15, 2014 by Mary Sambrosky

CherylGrace_homeI had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl Grace when she gave an introductory talk on the Principles of Feng Shui at Wings Bookstore in St. Petersburg, FL. While the topic was super interesting, her delivery of the material in a highly entertaining and authentic way truly made it captivating.

I couldn’t resist the urge to get a few minutes of face time with her at the end of the talk . She’s the kind of lady you want to get a dirty martini with and “kibitz”. I had to ask for an interview, and she graciously granted it.

Cheryl Grace (www.CherylGrace.com) is the Hay House author of “Feng Shui Simply: Change Your Life from the Inside Out”, a Feng Shui consultant, Reiki Master, Watercolorist, and Motivational Speaker. Here’s what she had to share about creating change in your life to have what you truly desire:

Mary (M): You talk in the book about an inner knowing you had about making the switch in career, geography, everything! How did this present to you? And how did you know that you weren’t crazy?

Cheryl Grace (CG): I was travelling upward in the corporate world, achieving what society’s definition of was: wealth, status, and accumulating material objects. However, I wasn’t happy. The switch came to me while I was sitting on a beach in Dunedin, FL. It was rare that my life wasn’t wall-to-wall busy.

Quiet time on the beach gave me the chance to reflect on the life I was now living wasn’t satisfying and that I needed to find my life’s work. On the way home, I read the book, Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui and for some reason, this was the opening for me. I wanted to pursue this fascinating subject, and by doing so, it led me to being a full time feng shui practitioner. When you know, you know. I never felt crazy.

M: What was your greatest fear, and your greatest comfort about making this total life change?

CG: The greatest comfort was that I was now going to be permanently off of the hamster wheel of corporate business life and that I would be working for myself. I was excited to follow an industry that I felt passionate about. I wasn’t ever afraid. I’ve always managed to land on my feet and I’m a hard worker. What you fear you will draw to you, so I never indulged in fear.

M: What advice would you give someone who is contemplating changing every thing as they know it?

CG: I always say, “Never jump out of a plane without a parachute.” Create a business plan that addresses the financial impact of your decisions. If you chase the inspiration and not the money, you’re headed in the right direction. While there might be a few cross roads on your path, everything will fall into place exactly when it’s supposed to. You have to have faith in your future.

M: What advice can you give to someone who doesn’t think they know who their authentic self is at all? How would you tell them to find it?

CG: If you make a “bucket list” of all the things you like to do or hope to do in your lifetime and pursue one at a time, it’s a surefire way to your authentic self. If you are trying to find happiness outside of yourself (a job, another person) or doing anything that you are unable to connect with, then you’re living someone else’s life.

Your instinct and your intuition is the GPS system of your life.

M: What “inside” feng shui principle most impacted you and your life? What was the challenge to “getting it”?

CG: I’ve read a lot of feng shui books and I feel personally that I know more about feng shui than even the amount of reading or education I’ve been introduced to. It’s a God-given talent. For a student of feng shui, the material has to resonate with you before you can “buy into” it. I find that by applying the feng shui enhancements in your home and living by the feng shui principles has completely changed my life for the better. Anyone can benefit from the power of feng shui just by following the basic principles. Practice makes perfect.

M: What is the number one rule you live by? And did you always live by it?

CG: That everything that happens to me in life is a GIFT. It’s happening FOR me, not TO me. I’m not a victim. That no matter what an adverse or challenging a situation is, it was pass. “This too shall pass.” And no, I didn’t live by this until I discovered feng shui.

M: What’s the biggest thing you have learned from changing your life completely?

CG: That I’m always able to peacefully cope with challenges and change with the tools and wisdom I’ve learned from feng shui. There are always going to be obstacles, but I look at everything that happens to me as a gift. It’s there to take me to a better place.

But Did You Ask?

December 15, 2014 by Robbie Adkins

I have been doing a little experiment this month. Every morning when I wake up, as I get out of bed, I ask “What miracle will happen to me today?” Asking is easy and it puts out the energy that you EXPECT that something wonderful will happen. It doesn’t have to be a big thing, not a cure for cancer, but just a small thing you can appreciate, a thing that makes your life a little better….or the life of someone you love.

On the first day of doing this, it was the day designated to do Christmas decorating in our house. I pretty much do it solo except for the outside lights, and going to buy the tree is something my husband and I always do together…and it isn’t always easy. We always have trouble agreeing on when we are going to go, where we are going to shop, how much we are going to spend, and then the grand decision…which tree!

On this day I was going to the nursery, so as I left I said “Don’t be surprised if I come home with a tree!” As I was leaving the nursery, after purchasing my other items, I saw the most beautiful tree and decided to buy it. When I did, they said “You have a $25 credit on your account.” Bingo, discount too! Then they loaded it in my car WITH the stand…I said I didn’t need it and they said that it was included…so no struggling to make it stand up straight at home…it was already perfectly straight. Then when I got home, it was light enough that I got it to the front door all by myself! It is truly the prettiest tree we have ever had…and the easiest to get! My little miracle for the day!

Another recent miracle involved our little dog Maggie. She is older and her eyes got very foggy so we assumed she was going blind. One night she fell in the swimming pool because she couldn’t see as she walked around it. Luckily I was with her and saved her of course, but we decided to take her to the Vet to see if ANYTHING could be done. Miracle! She wasn’t blind at all…she had an eye infection from a scratch she got a couple of years ago! We are putting drops in her eyes and they are clearing right up! Dark eyes again and she can SEE…and she seems to be pretty happy about it…as are we!

These are just a couple of examples of little miracles that can happen, if you expect them. Then the final step is to take a minute to be grateful for them. This completes the cycle of positive energy. What I have learned over the years is that the source of these miracles often is your own energy…not necessarily an outside divine benefactor. There are those too of course, but this is about what YOU can do yourself.

So give this some thought…and give it a try. This is the right season for magical things to happen!

Walking Your Talk

December 13, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

dave_001-You’ve heard this before, haven’t you? Walk your talk!

At first, we take this to mean that what you tell others to do you must be doing yourself. This is an important part of living a healthy and happy lifestyle.

It is also important because want to make an impact with others in everything we do. We want to set an example, and demonstrate the results of our efforts.

My mentor, Paul Chek, often says that you can only teach to your level of personal mastery

Far too often we fall prey to others who promise a wonderful path of results if you only follow their guidance. Yet, these same people fail to follow their own program, and cannot show proof of the results in their own lives.

We want to work with people who have done it themselves, and are living the life they are offering.

This makes perfect sense. We go to doctors and surgeons who are in the top of their field. We trust them because they have successfully accomplished results in their procedures.

We put our financial wellbeing in the hands of financial advisors who have proven they successfully manage their own portfolios.

What about you? Are you walking your talk? You may say, “Well I don’t have a career in which I ask people to follow my advice.” That may be true, but let’s look deeper into how you are walking your talk. Whether you realize it or not, it affects the results in your life.

The deeper awareness of walking your talk has to do with what you believe about yourself. It is these beliefs that create the results in your life.

These beliefs are your inner “talk.” They lay deep within your subconscious, and they are the auto-pilot of your life. They are also the filter through which you experience your life.

Your inner voice is always talking to you, and it directs your thoughts, feelings and actions. Because of this, you are always walking your talk in some manner, be it in a positive or a negative way.

There is a bigger question that comes to mind as you consider your inner talk. You must ask yourself if you have a belief system that is giving you what you truly desire in life.

If you are unsatisfied or unhappy with the results in your life, then the best action to take is to change the source of your inner talk.

If you ever want to know what someone’s inner talk is, all you have to do is look at their life and how they act. Everything about each person is a direct expression of that inner talk. Our lives, and how we live them, give us away.

If you want to improve your health and fitness, you must create a new vision of what it means to be healthy and fit. This will become your new and improved talk within your subconscious. Once it is fixed in your brain, you will consistently begin to think, feel, and act in accordance with your new talk. You will walk the talk of this new vision of yourself.

Do you desire greater health and wellness for your life? If you truly wish to start living your life to its fullest and healthiest, then it’s time to create a new talk and to start walking it.

This is a very exciting step, and I would love to help you with it.

Here is a complimentary webinar that will help you get started.
