Creating Happiness Through Health

June 16, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

DF1Imagine what it would feel like to live a life of happiness, health, and well-being. Can you do that? Can you close your eyes and let yourself go to a time and place where you feel amazing vitality, strength, and a true sense of peace and happiness?

This is where it all starts. Right from where you are. No matter what is going on in your lives. Right here, right now, is the time to start the process of creating health and happiness for tomorrow.

What do you have in your life that you can be thankful for right now? There is so much you can’t even imagine. You just have to recognize it and stop rejecting it. Being present in this moment for what you do have will begin to bring more experiences into your life to be thankful for.

Yes, I am talking about gratitude. Since our time together is focused on health, fitness, and wellness, I will speak in those terms.

Maybe you don’t have the energy, body shape, health, or sense of well-being you are desiring; however, you still have plenty to be grateful for. See what you do have to work with as a gift, and take and mold yourself into someone spectacular.

Can you walk? Can you move your body? Are you able to put food on the table that is nutritious? Can you schedule time for exercise, meditation, and family? Do you have someone who will support and encourage you? (Yes you do; I am just a phone call away!)

Part of creating happiness in your life is creating health and fitness in your body.

When your body is strong and filled with vitality, you feel so much more confident and self empowered. You have the energy to step beyond the day’s normal activities and start following your passions.

When your body is healthy and strong, you are capable of so much more, and your spirit guides your thoughts into the expression of your full potential.

It is so true: “When you have your health, you have everything. When you do not have your health, nothing else matters at all.” Augusten, Burroughs

I have personally worked with many very successful people who were in such a state of pain and physical dysfunction that they could not see clear to feel happy or grateful for all that they had. Their lack of health pulled them down into fear and despair. Yet as we worked together, and as they began to create health and wellness, their enthusiasm for life returned, and they realized how precious health is to happiness.

Happiness comes out of a healthy spirit, mind, and body. We must give ourselves the spiritual, mental/emotional, and physical nutrition needed so we can radiate happiness from every cell in our body.

Spiritually, we must recognize we are the universal consciousness, or God, and we are here to live a life of abundance, happiness, and health. Then we need to claim this for ourselves by believing it and knowing we are capable of anything we can imagine.

Mentally/emotionally, we must focus our attention on knowing and feeling ourselves as that which we desire to be. When our thoughts and emotions drift towards the negative, we should recognize this and refocus our attention on our desires.

Physically, we must give our bodies abundant deep breathing, plenty of clean water, nutritious foods, the right amount of exercise, and plenty of sleep.

Happiness comes with a simple recipe: Love yourself enough to give your spirit, mind, and body what it needs in order to be healthy and to flourish.

By doing so, you will live a life that most will only dream of.

You deserve this, you know? You deserve to be happy, healthy, and well. No one outside of yourself can give this to you. You not only hold the key, but you are the key.

Unlock your potential of happiness, health, and wellness by starting today.

I am here to help you on this journey.

I wish for you Vibrant Health!

Risking Your Health and Wellness

May 9, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it. – Michelangelo

This quote by Michelangelo gets right to the root of why most folks never accomplish what they dream of creating in their health and wellness and their life.

We are afraid to risk, and so our aim in life is to just get by. We allow our fear of taking risk to stop us from trying to make a better life.

When we think of risk it is usually in the form of taking some action and the possibilities of not succeeding.

For you to achieve your desires you must take risk. Risk allows for growth. For growth to happen there will always be resistance in the process.

A person who never risks and plays it safe is actually holding themselves back from being more, having more, and experiencing more.

Think of starting a business, or buying a house or investing money, or starting / ending a relationship or starting a health and fitness program to get healthy. Each comes with the risk of not succeeding and the possibility of ending up right back where you started.

When we think deeply on the subject of risk we can take each one of those negative possibilities of loss and ask what is at risk if we do not take the actions to be successful in those endeavors. What are we risking then?

That is in my opinion is the way to look at a situation. It is the possibilities of what you will never create if you do not risk.

There are two sides to every coin. In fact my mentor Paul Chek says there are three sides, the positive, the negative and the edge of the coin, which states the potential to create the positive.

You should never be afraid of risk. Risk doesn’t mean to haphazardly jump into something, but instead using a calculated thought out process. You should get excited in knowing that if there is risk there is also gain. We should always and only focus on the gain.

In my view there is little to no risk in beginning a health and wellness lifestyle. When done sensibly you can only improve your state of health and wellness. The real risk comes if you don’t give yourself the gift of health and wellness. By doing nothing you will progressively move towards dysfunction illness and disease.

When thinking about creating health and wellness we should also apply these questions.

  • What are you risking by not taking care of your health and wellness?
  • What are you risking by creating a healthy lifestyle.

You’ll see by your answers that the risks of not taking care of your health and wellness is far greater than risks of creating a healthy lifestyle.

I would love to help you create happiness, health and wellness in your life.

I wish for you a vibrant life!  David E. Fresilli

Where’s All This Stress Coming From?

April 25, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

Fotolia_6169073_Subscription_XXL

If there is one subject we are hearing a lot about it is stress and how it affects our health and wellness.

When stress becomes an overwhelming burden on the spirit, mind, and body stress can and will manifest in sickness and disease.

Part of the issue is we are bombarded with addition types of stress that just weren’t present until the industrial revolution and the introduction of modern technologies.

Now I’m not saying let’s go back to the stone age, however I am suggesting that we all accept responsibility for our health and implement lifestyle changes so we are taking care not to subject ourselves to so much exposure.

Let’s look briefly at the body and what happens as stress is put upon it. We will keep this general and simple.

We have an autonomic nervous system, which is then broken down into the sympathetic, and parasympathetic nervous systems. It is the sympathetic nervous system that responds to stress by stimulating the adrenals to release cortisol, epinephrine and nor epinephrine among others. These hormones cause the body to shunt blood from the digestive and other systems that deal with growth and repair all of which are controlled by the parasympathetic nervous system. In a fight or flight response blood is pushed to the muscles, there is an increase in heart rate, the liver is triggered to push glucose into the blood stream for energy, and raise metabolism.

Now in a true case of fight or flight you would be using your body to run away or fight. This is a perfectly designed system for self preservation.

Now ask yourself how many times when you are feeling stressed are you in that position. Hardly ever right?

Maybe you’re severely stressed by a work deadline, or a relationship breakup, or lack of money. It doesn’t matter what the stimulus of the stress, the body still responds the same way. Which is to stimulate a fight or flight response.

This is so engrained in our genetics that no matter how we rationalize the situation, it will happen.

You have two options in my view to alleviate this reaction.

Learn how your mind works so you are aware of how you perceive what causes you stress and change your perceptions, and also do your best to minimize the amount of stress you are exposed to.

At this point I bet most of you are thinking about what we will call mental / emotional stress. Of course

mental / emotional stress is one of the big ones, and holly cow does it cause a lot of health challenges for people over the long run.

There are several other types of stress that I want to make you aware of.

Before we go into this I want you too remember that your body doesn’t know the difference between any of these stressors. Your body only knows one way to respond to them all. Fight or flight. I also want you too understand that your body summates or accumulates stress. This means that all the stress put upon the spirit, mind, and body goes into one big bucket and if the stressors over flow the bucket your body is under constant fight or flight, even when you are sleeping.

Many people are living their lives in a state of stress overflow and don’t even realize it. It can cause illness, disease, weight gain, physical pain in the body, and the list is endless. The point to remember is our bodies are a perfect reflection of our health or lack there of. Stress is a major component to our health.

So here goes. These are the stressors we are all being subjected to on a daily basis.

Read through and make a checklist of what you are exposing yourself to on a daily basis, and think about you bucket filling up.

  • Physical Stress such as poor posture, poor sleep, exercise whether over-training or under-training, injuries and surgeries.
  • Chemical stress from drugs and alcohol, hormones, antibiotics, chlorine, fluoride, aluminum, additives in cleaning agents, detergents, cosmetics, and hygiene products. These can be taken in through the skin, orally, and through breathing.
  • Nutritional stress can come from too much or too little food, poor quality of food or the wrong foods for you.

  • Electromagnetic stress such as television / computers, Mobile phones, electronic devices, power lines & towers.
  • Thermal stress includes too much sun exposure, or severe body temperature deregulation in the form of hypothermia, or hyperthermia.
  • Emotional / Mental stress you’re your thoughts, your values & beliefs, from relationships, money, lack of safety and security, overworking.

Can you see how easily we can become over-inundated with stressors on a daily basis? Multiply those by weeks, months, and years and you can begin to understand the effects it can and will have on your spirit, mind, and body.

Learn to become a “stress reduction expert” as my mentor Paul Chek states.

Do your best to limit your exposure to the outer environmental stressors and begin let go of your past beliefs and values that are causing you to mental / emotional stress.

I would love to help you begin this journey of health and wellness.

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!

Healing The Person Not The Dysfunction

April 11, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

Fotolia_6950214_Subscription_XLWe in the western world are accustomed to solving the problems at hand without many time looking deeper at the true cause.

In western allopathic medicine there are ointments, pills, wraps, therapies, and surgery to resolve our health and wellness issues. The challenge is much of the time we are only addressing the outer physical dysfunction and ignoring the true cause within person.

When we address health and wellness in an integrative and holistic approach we look deeper into helping the person heal along with the dysfunction. Better stated we always want to help the person heal their spirit, mind, and body so that the body will then heal itself.

Remember, our bodies are amazing. They have the innate ability to heal themselves if given a chance.

When you are experiencing health issues, and or pain, certainly you should seek the advice of your doctor. However it is also an important moment to question what brought on the issue.

If I asked you what brought on your health issues most will say “ I don’t know” and I am sure that is probably true.

Yet it is our body that is experiencing the health issue. Why are we so blind to the causes?

We have never been taught how our bodies work. No one has ever told us how to help the body heal. Just as importantly we are reliant on the medical field to just tell us what’s wrong and by doing so we give our own power to heal ourselves away.

This power I speak of is nothing more than the knowledge, skills, and ability we need to acquire to help ourselves.

There are certain fundamental components to creating health and wellness in our lives. I have spoken of them frequently. What now needs to happen is for all of us to begin to implement them into our lives.

By implementing these 6 simple steps of health and wellness you can help your body heal itself, and in doing so create a life of health and wellness many people never get to experience.

Each one of these components is a simple step you integrate into your life at an optimum level. Starting from the top are your thoughts, then breathing, hydration, nutrition, exercise and sleep. Now there is much more than to say I already do those things, because of course we all do, but it the level at which you do them that makes the difference between healing or taking the path to illness and disease.

This is the concept in healing the person not the dysfunction.

To continually address the health issues and not address what a person is doing to their body that is causing the health issues is the definition of insanity.

Each and every one of us holds the power to make the best choices for our spirit, mind, and body. No one forces us to eat poorly, or abuse our bodies in the many ways that are available, whether it’s smoking, drinking, or any other type of abuse.

Happiness, health, and wellness have a simple formula. It first must start with a commitment to take responsibility for your actions, and stepping forward into healing yourself.

Illness, injury, and disease, many times are only due to our body’s inability to fight off the stages of the dysfunction. On the other hand when we live a lifestyle of health and wellness our bodies are well equipped to heal and defend against possible health challenges.

I would love to help you begin this journey of health and wellness.

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!
