Your Best Holiday Season Ever!

November 14, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

Fotolia_58242432_Subscription_Monthly_MIt’s here! I’m so excited!

The holiday season is finally here. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s, and all of the holidays that herald a transformation into the more wintery months, have arrived. They mark a time that encourages us to enjoy precious moments with family, and to express gratitude for all the blessings that enhance our lives.

Unfortunately, it is also the season when the average American will gain ten to fifteen pounds of extra body fat! Hey, it’s a season of joy, but sometimes it can also usher in a season of over-indulgence.

Not to worry. We have a strategy to combat those extra pounds.

Let us first ask ourselves, why do these extra pounds seem to creep up on us during a time that is supposed to usher in feelings of joy and celebration? Perhaps it is because we use the holiday season as an excuse to eat recklessly, drink with abandon, and procrastinate in our exercise because we want to engage in other holiday activities.

Hey, Christmas tree shopping should be considered an exercise…right? Well, maybe so, but not if it’s followed up with too much egg nog and sweet treats. Have you ever envisioned a romp through the woods, looking for that perfect tree, and ending your adventure with a feast of fresh veggies and organic turkey followed by a warm cup of herbal tea? It’s all about healthy alternatives folks. And those alternatives can be tasty and fun!

What really happens for most of us during the holiday season is that we give up on the goal of creating a fit and strong body, and allow ourselves to fall back into our old ways of self-sabotage.

May I offer you a happy compromise that allows you to embrace the holiday season, without suffering from the backlash of over-indulgence?

Why not make this holiday season a breakthrough event that lets you achieve your health and fitness goals? Fill yourself with the confidence and excitement that allows you to maintain your best body and health throughout the winter months!

How do you do this? You must, must, must, decide right now that you will do whatever it takes to create optimum health, because it is that important to you and only you. Make it your personal mission!

I am sure there have been at least a few times in your life when you have said, “I don’t care about the naysayers. I am going to do something for myself that will make me look healthy and feel happy!”

I want you to build that desire deep within you and let it become your center, your compass, and your direction toward health and fitness.

This desire that burns within will steer you away from the temptation to skip your workouts, or partake in treats and to over indulge.

When the New Year arrives, and everyone else is complaining about the weight they put on, or how out of shape they are, you will be joyfully filled with pride in yourself for becoming so much more than you ever imagined!

Your friends and family might ask you how you managed to become such a healthy person during the holidays. They will ask how you were able to resist all the temptations of excessive food and treats. You will recognize their questions as what you asked yourself last year, when you dared to explore how you may achieve your dream body and ultimate health.

This holiday season is your time to break free and to create a new self-image of someone who goes after their dreams and doesn’t look back.

Be bold. Be brave. Become the amazing person you are meant to be.

I would love to help you on this journey. If you want help, you only need to ask.

I am here, and ready to be your coach, and to give you all that you need to obtain the body and life you so deserve.

Here is a link offering a complimentary webinar that offers just a sample of what you can look forward to with me in your corner.

Let’s spend the holidays together.

I wish for all of you, Vibrant Health!

Thriving Through Nature’s Timing

September 15, 2014 by Cindy Hively

“There are times to cultivate and create, when you nurture your world and give birth to new ideas and ventures. There are times of flourishing and abundance, when life feels in full bloom, energized and expanding. And there are times of fruition, when things come to an end. They have reached their climax and must be harvested before they begin to fade. And finally of course, there are times that are cold, and cutting and empty, times when the spring of new beginnings seems like a distant dream. Those rhythms in life are natural events. They weave into one another as day follows night, bringing, not messages of hope and fear, but messages of how things are.” –Chogyam Trungpa

The thought of fall was in the air today. A strong breeze was blowing leaves and sticks, and I was so thankful for low humidity and much cooler temperatures. I love mornings like this. It allows me to be one with nature while doing yoga and meditation. Here in the Roanoke Valley where I live, it has been a hotter than normal summer season. I have been saying for a while now, “I am so looking forward to fall.” Fall has always been my favorite season. I love the crunch of the leaves, the brilliant colors, the way leaves twirl through the air and the smell of change. My body’s rhythm is very connected to this season. It is when I feel the best inside and out, and I prepare for fall as though I am preparing for guests. As women, I truly believe we nurture our favorite season and prepare for its arrival in many ways. What I want to cook and eat changes, the dishes I use changes, and the beds are dressed differently as well. I put up a different ornamentation on my door and change the look inside my home to reflect my love for fall. Outside, I put my gardens to sleep for the winter and trim and save seeds for the next season.

We all have these same seasonal rhythms in our body. We follow right along with nature, and we become one with each season. Our body changes with the seasons, with the weather, with the atmospheric conditions. Many people can tell in their bones, especially women, when a change in weather is coming. Human bodies are in sync with the forces, shifts, cold and heat, light and dark, humidity and all the other variations that the seasons bring. They respond and shift their functioning according to these natural dynamics. All living organisms change with the different rhythms and seasons. Seasonal changes are important to my body due to chronic illness and pain.

Regardless of location or traditional cultures, there is an awareness that we are continuously affected by the changing of seasons. Knowing this, as we care for our health and our bodies, we are able to adapt compassionately to the natural rhythms of the earth. This is especially true for me in the winter season. The coldest season of all can cause tremendous pain and health issues. I plan for the rhythm of this season and treat myself with loving kindness, lots of blankets, warm teas and great books.  Learning to live within the seasonal fluctuations is believed to bring health, harmony and strength to the body. It also provides a natural timetable and rhythm for a good service check and health care program for maintenance and upkeep to prevent accumulated stress, anxiety and depression from our body’s responses.

Sometimes we fail to adapt our habits to be more compatible with the rhythms of seasonal changes. By being aware of some of these changes throughout the year we can support shifting body dynamics so as to assist the changes. We can also take advantage of these natural shifting points to expand those dynamics that are increasing/flowing and rest those that are decreasing/ebbing. Many of us set up associations of food, drink, activities, energies, dress and emotions that are related to and affected by the seasonal shifts.

The seasonal rhythms are meant to be celebrated, nurtured and loved as all of nature is intended to be. When our patterns are ebbing and flowing according to their natural rhythms, our body is perfectly synchronized and performs at its peak. We have effortless energy and vitality when we live in accordance with nature and seasonal rhythms. We learn lessons from the rhythms of each season; it is a warm and compelling adventure that enables us to see ourselves with fresh tenderness. In an engaging manner, it offers hope and encouragement in the face of the hectic, stress-filled demands of life.

I hope this has inspired each of us to become “Mindful” of the rhythms of each season and embrace the newness in our hearts as something to cherish and look forward to. Fall will be here soon, what simplistic rhythms fill your heart with joy and love?

It Takes Action To Create Your Health & Dream Body

August 22, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

Fotolia_55286906_Subscription_XXLAction will certainly be required to achieve any goal you have created for yourself in your health and fitness.

Taking action is something we want to get excited about. It is through taking action that we can achieve the health and dream body we have always desired.

Taking action is something many people get stuck on. They can dream big and get excited about creating their dream, but they fall short when it comes to taking the actions that are needed to create the big dream.

Action is the physical expression of creating your big dream. However you have to be inspired to take the actions that are coming to you.

Your big dream once planted in your subconscious may intuitively telling you to make a phone call, research something on the internet, or make an appointment with someone who can help you achieve your big dream.

What is important to understand is that your big dream is giving you the inspiration, motivation, and ideas you should be taking in the form of actions.

In the beginning consistently taking action may seem challenging.

Even though you may feel uncomfortable following these inspired thoughts and ideas actions ares needed for you to achieve your health and dream body.

Your new health and dream body are going to ask you to get up and do your exercises, eat better, and don’t skip meal. In fact it will remind you to bring your healthy food with you to work. Your dream will hint to you to get out and walk during lunch, take the stairs, and hit the gym after work. Your dream body and health will encourage you to make a health dinner and get to bed earlier so your body can sleep for eight hours and heal itself.

Your dream body and health will trigger you to join a gym or get a trainer, maybe start running or join a team sport.

These and countless more actions will come into your mind each and every moment of everyday when you focus on living and feeling your dream. This is supposed to happen. It is the way we are designed to create.

The more consistently you take action the more habitual it will become. This is a fantastic habit to create.

People who take effective actions each day are highly productive in creating their health and fitness dreams.

You are meant to be healthy and fit. You are meant to dream of what you want in life and then take action to create it.

Taking action is part of the lifestyle you will create along with your big dream of health and fitness.

Your positive actions toward creating your health and fitness dream comes after getting emotionally involved in visualizing and feeling your dream as already real.

How exciting will it be to live a life where you know that all you have to do is create the big dream, get emotionally involved in feeling it, and then take the consistent actions to make it happen.

Action carries with it power. You have within you unlimited access to the power to create. The more consistently you take action toward your dream the more power you will access.

I would love to help you on your journey of health and wellness.

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!

You Have To Do The Basics

August 8, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

fotolia_293572_Subscription_LAre you still trying to figure out why you are not getting the results you want in your health and fitness? You probably feel like you’ve tried every program out there. You’ve  restricted calories, taken every boot camp available, tried running yourself to death, drank shakes till they are coming out your ears, and still you’ve had no lasting results.

Oh, sure you took some of the weight off, and got a little stronger, maybe even had some relief from the chronic pain you deal with. But, you still haven’t been able to achieve the body and health you are so hoping to have.

What else is there to try? How about that new kind of exercise program that’s on T.V., or a new class they are promoting. Even better, I hear there is a new diet that you only drink the juice from a tree found in the Amazon.

Can I say something here? Please don’t.

I know the way you feel. It’s so frustrating setting a goal of losing weight and increasing your fitness but not knowing where to turn. The motivation hits you and you want to run with it. What should you do though? You don’t want to do the same things you’ve done in the past like starve yourself and workout till you can’t move.

I dealt with this quite a bit when I was first starting off. I just tried to do what everyone else was doing. I would get hurt or not get results. I tried everything I heard would work. I would lift heavy. Then I tried lifting light. I tried eating mass quantities of food, then low fat, high carbs. After that I tried high protein, low carbs. Then I fell victim to taking this supplement and that supplement.

It got to the point that I didn’t feel I knew what I was doing. In reality I didn’t. I hadn’t learned about the basics of health yet.

Trying to figure out how to create real health and fitness in my life seemed too big of a challenge. There was too much to know. I would need a team of health practitioners to take care of me. Just like a professional athlete who has several team practitioners there to design every part of a workout and eating and lifestyle. No wonder so many of us give up before we even start.

I’m here to tell you it doesn’t need to be confusing or hard. All that we have to do is get back to the basics.

Believe it or not, as complex as we are, health, fitness, and wellness are not at all hard to create for yourself. You don’t need fancy gym equipment, or special supplements, or a team of practitioners. All you need are the six components to health and wellness.

These six components will give your spirit, mind, and body all that is needed to heal and create health, fitness, and wellness.

You are already doing them every day. The only challenge is that you have never learned how to do them correctly to bring about health and wellness. Without knowing it you have been sabotaging your health and fitness by not taking full advantage of these components.

Did you think I was going to reveal some hidden secret for health and wellness or the newest way to get your body in shape?

Well in a sense I am. I am telling you that health, fitness, and wellness require basic inputs in the right amount and in the right way. Those last two are the secret. In the right amount and in the right way.

You have these three amazing instruments but you have been using them ineffectively. Those instruments are your spirit, mind, and body. Each one comes with a simple yet very effective set of directions for optimum results in health, fitness, and well-being, along with love, happiness, and wealth.

As my high school algebra teacher Mr. Landers would say “ It so simple it’s slippery”.

Creating health, fitness, and well-being in your life is simple. All that is required is the deep desire and the will to implement these six simple components.

Any of you who have been following my articles, blogs, podcasts, and videos are well aware of these six components. They are your thoughts (self Image), breathing, hydration, nutrition, exercise, and sleep.

Within these six components lie the keys to the kingdom of health, fitness, and wellness.

It’s time to get back to the basics!

Are you ready to jump into integrating these components and start feeling the results?

Let’s do this together. You can go to here and watch a complimentary webcast I made for you all on the six components.

I am here to support you on your journey.

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!
