What If Can’t Is Just A Misspelling?

April 1, 2014 by Cheryl Maloney

Fotolia_58396711_Subscription_Monthly_MIs your vocabulary filled with “can’ts?”  Do you come up with one reason (aka excuse) after another of why you can’t live the way you want to?  Are you discouraged because you believe you can’t have what you want?

What if your “can’ts” are just a typo?  What if you really can?

Can’ts exist because you’ve erroneously decided that you can’t do or have something… and in doing so you’ve squashed your own hopes and dreams.  No one else does that for you… you do it to you.  The cool thing is that you CAN do the exact opposite and  be just as successful at doing as you have been at “can’ting”… if you want to.

For years I told myself I’d never be as successful as my boss, my best friend or even my sister.  The funny thing was I didn’t really want to be what they were.  I didn’t want to be a corporate employee.  I didn’t want to be a nomad and I sure didn’t want to be miserable.  Somehow though I saw myself as less than… but it wasn’t until I realized I didn’t want to be them that I realized I could be the person I wanted to be.

What about you?  What if you dropped the “t” and decided you can:

  • Be happy
  • Take a risk just to see how it works out
  • Decide every morning to do the best you can do
  • Bless the people around you
  • Be grateful for what you do have

And if you do all of those things you’ll also realize that you can take the steps necessary to live your dream, to love without conditions and be a blessing to the world.

You CAN do or be whatever you decide you CAN do!

Having a Dream

March 28, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

Fotolia_49763353_Subscription_Monthly_MLet’s talk about creating health and wellness in your life. What do you think is the first step to take? How about signing up at a gym, or starting a better eating plan, maybe it’s making an appointment with your doctor to get his advise?

Well in fact the first step in creating health and wellness in your life is finding out what your dream is.

My dream? What do you mean my dream? What does living on a tropical island have to do with my health and wellness?

I would tell you it has everything to do with whether you succeed in accomplishing your health and wellness or failing.

What I am actually speaking of is finding that one absolutely tangible thought that will inspire you to take action everyday to create your health and wellness.

We are talking about motivation!

When we are motivated to do something it is easy and painless. We have focus and energy to go after our dream.

So your dream must be something that holds a great deal of power for you. It cannot be something small. When a goal is small there is very little motivation to go after it. It is only when a dream is really big, that we get excited.

Look at any personal development course out there from one of the several masters and having that dream is at the top of the list.

You have to know what you truly want before you can achieve it.

So to say my dream is to be healthy and fit isn’t strong enough. There’s no tangible aspect to that. However if you get really specific and say my dream is to transform my body into a vibrant, lean, strong, sexy, beautiful, body, then we have something to work with. Now we want you to get even more specific by cutting out photos and drawing pictures, and describing in detail what it will feel like and look like to be healthy and fit. Having a specific dream that really excites you when you think about it and can describe it in every detail will carry even more power for you.

You’ll know if your dream isn’t big enough if it doesn’t motivate you into action. If this is the case sit down give yourself time to really figure it out. Make lists of what you want and don’t want. Refine that list and get to the nitty-gritty until you discover what it is that really excites you.

Take sometime to get quiet with yourself away from everyone else and ask yourself

“What do I really want my health and wellness to be, what will it feel like to be really healthy and fit?” Then allow your higher self to begin to show you.

Write down those moments if inspired thoughts, cut out the photos in the magazines, make the calls, meet the people. As you take these actions that come to you it will become clear what you truly want to achieve. As this happens write down and refine your dream until it is as clear as a bell in your head.

With this dream in hand, heart and mind you will now be ready to begin the next steps needed to create your health and fitness because now you are absolutely sure of what it is that you are striving for.

Do you need more help in figuring out your dream? I am here to help give me a call or send an email. Let’s work together to awaken your dream and create the health and fitness you have always desired.

I wish for you vibrant Health.

Fearlessly Positive

March 27, 2014 by Teri Williams

Teri WilliamsA few years ago I read something about positive attitudes “not being all they’re cracked up to be”.  If you know me, you know I think that’s just crazy. If you don’t know me, you should – I love my Pollyanna attitude and believe 100% that it has been my life saver on many occasions. They don’t call me The Bliss Lady for nothing!

Having a positive attitude does not mean that I am in a constant state of euphoria. There is an  evil twin lurking somewhere deep inside wanting to get out to spread a little (or maybe a lot) of negative energy around. Occasionally, she pops her head out to scream in the car, punch a pillow or throw something far across the room.  My best tool for getting it all out is a kick boxing session – hitting or kicking a punching bag a few times can make a big difference when those nasty little gremlins in my head start chatting.

What being fearlessly positive means, to me, is that I remain optimistic by choosing to:

  • Smile, even when I don’t feel like it
  • Maintain a cheerful countenance
  • Look at the bright side
  • Get creative
  • Take responsibility for my own actions
  • Choose wisely
  • Never stop reaching for the best
  • Practice impeccable soul care

When I am down in the dumps and feel like I can’t go on I silently chant Sarah Ban Breathnach’s mantra from Simple Abundance: This too shall pass and this too shall pass! I’ve practiced it  many times.  I am human, after all, and have had my share of drama and trauma.

Everyday I make a conscious effort to surround myself with like-minded individuals, as well as symbols of the love and joy in my own life.  Included in my personal space are constant reminders that have the potential to instantly lift my spirits and ignite my passion.

Walk into my sacred space and you will find photos’ of my family and pets, crystals, candles, books and quotes from my  teachers like The Buddha, Depak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Steve Jobs,  Albert Einstein, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Oprah and so many more.  On the corner of my altar sits a miracle jar and a box that contains personal treasures and dreams.  Each item in my line of sight represents something to smile about and be thankful for.

As a member of this incredible community called Earth, I know I have more than enough tools and resources available for looking beyond the negative headlines and daily drama to remain fearlessly positive.  Mother Nature, season after season, doesn’t give up, neither will I!

Your Intuition is Calling: Are You Listening?

March 27, 2014 by Shann VanderLeek

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. We will not solve the problems of the world from the same level of thinking we were at when we created them. More than anything else, this new century demands new thinking: We must change our materially based analyses of the world around us to include broader, more multidimensional perspectives.- Albert Einstein

fotolia_9563671_Subscription_LWe are alive during one of the most fascinating times in human history. Malnourished from years of fear-based conditioning, our steadfast rules and ideals have come undone, paving the way for radical change. I believe intuitive, creative and compassionate human beings are the key to our future. The conscious collective is shedding her ego and learning to trust her intuition. I define intuition as opening up to (and learning how to trust) our inner wisdom.

This heart opening, inner knowing or gut instinct, guides many through the ebb and flow of life. Go against your gut and you will often experience an event you could have avoided… had you only listened. How many times have you heard yourself or others say, I knew better, I wish I would have followed my instincts?  Have you ever had a strong feeling about something, and gone against that feeling because you didn’t have the facts to support your instincts? What happened?

One of my coaching clients came to me tired of giving her power away and was often conflicted when she didn’t follow her own instincts. She always looked to outside sources for direction and validation. We uncovered that she felt safe looking to others because she would not be to blame for a poor decision.

Often the way we are brought up teaches us to defer to our parents, peers and teachers. We are taught black and white reasoning. Right and wrong. Good and bad. Follow the RULES and color inside of the lines. Schools aren’t teaching our children the power of our intuition. No wonder we look outside of ourselves for validation.

Intuition is available in each of us. It just gets lost under layers of experiences, judgements, mistakes, authority figures, inner critics etc. We often shroud our internal compass at an early age to stay safe and remain small. Dig yourself out from under the layers of junk and you will find a buried treasure more valuable than you can imagine. This fortune found is your wisdom on tap.

In the book “You Already Know What To Do” Sharon Franquemont supports her readers to explore and develop their intuition with intuitive exercises. One of my favorites is Putting Your Words to Work. When you’re ready, get a notebook and pen and complete the following sentence.  “Because my higher self wants to prepare me for greater awareness, I already know to…

Now quickly generate a list of the first five activities that come up for you. You might include:

  1. Commune with nature
  2. Carve out time for relaxation
  3. Visit a sacred space
  4. Savor a ripe piece of fruit
  5. Read a book about how to develop your intuition

This week choose one item on your intuitive list and make it happen!

If you want to develop your intuition, you have to learn to trust yourself.  What if you began to tune into your body and notice how you feel when something big comes up? When faced with an obstacle, invitation or opportunity, check in with how you feel. Your first instinct will almost always be true for you. Your natural intuitive powers already shape your personal decisions, relationships, and career. Learn to trust their loving guidance and you will step into a lifestyle rich with creativity and spiritual energy.

“I feel there are two people inside me – me and my intuition. If I go against her,

she’ll screw me every time, and if I follow her, we get along quite nicely.”
– Kim Basinger

Here are some tips to help you develop and use your intuition as your guide:

Write in a journal

As a transformational coach and writer I’ve honed my intuitive skills by remaining curious and giving them time to bubble to the surface and flow on the pages of my journal.  In the Transformation Goddess program, I ask participants to find a quiet space, light a candle and settle in.  When relaxed and ready they are instructed to ask their inner-Goddess: What it is that they most need to understand about themselves and the world right now. The goal is to write the answer in their journal without correction, judgement or edification. What comes up is a valuable message from their inner-wisdom.

Meditate

Mediation is a great way to clear the clutter from your mind while opening the door to your inner-voice. Sit. Breathe. Empty your mind. Even a few minutes each day will make a positive impact on your life. Create some time to be still and notice what comes up for you.

Pay Attention to Symbols and Metaphors

Sometimes your intuition will show up in the form of symbols or numbers or repetitive metaphors.

Lately I’ve been impatient about growing Transformation Goddess. My small voice reminded me that I was in the phase of creating a healthy container (community) for tender seedlings (Goddesses).  The next day I was gifted tiny basil plants from a friend.  Later I pulled an oracle card that impressed on me the power of patience through observing nature.  Everywhere I turned I was invited to be patient and continue caring for my new garden.

Feel into Making Decisions

When making a monumental decision, pay close attention to how you feel and what you need.  Over analyzing every decision in your life can create confusion and mental paralysis. If you don’t trust yourself, you may spend endless amounts of time looking for external data to support your decision.

Get quiet before bed and ask for guidance from your inner knowing. Release your question to the universe and then sleep on it. When you wake up in the morning, check in and see what comes up for you. You will find that you already know what to do!

Intuition is available to you when you learn to let go, trust and surrender. Notice how you feel when you make a choice based on instinct. Give yourself permission to NOT explain why or why not. The feeling in your heart is telling enough. When you choose to develop your intuition, you will tap into a wellspring of power within. You deserve to step into your intuitive power and listen to your inner knowing. Trust yourself.
