Walking Your Talk

December 13, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

dave_001-You’ve heard this before, haven’t you? Walk your talk!

At first, we take this to mean that what you tell others to do you must be doing yourself. This is an important part of living a healthy and happy lifestyle.

It is also important because want to make an impact with others in everything we do. We want to set an example, and demonstrate the results of our efforts.

My mentor, Paul Chek, often says that you can only teach to your level of personal mastery

Far too often we fall prey to others who promise a wonderful path of results if you only follow their guidance. Yet, these same people fail to follow their own program, and cannot show proof of the results in their own lives.

We want to work with people who have done it themselves, and are living the life they are offering.

This makes perfect sense. We go to doctors and surgeons who are in the top of their field. We trust them because they have successfully accomplished results in their procedures.

We put our financial wellbeing in the hands of financial advisors who have proven they successfully manage their own portfolios.

What about you? Are you walking your talk? You may say, “Well I don’t have a career in which I ask people to follow my advice.” That may be true, but let’s look deeper into how you are walking your talk. Whether you realize it or not, it affects the results in your life.

The deeper awareness of walking your talk has to do with what you believe about yourself. It is these beliefs that create the results in your life.

These beliefs are your inner “talk.” They lay deep within your subconscious, and they are the auto-pilot of your life. They are also the filter through which you experience your life.

Your inner voice is always talking to you, and it directs your thoughts, feelings and actions. Because of this, you are always walking your talk in some manner, be it in a positive or a negative way.

There is a bigger question that comes to mind as you consider your inner talk. You must ask yourself if you have a belief system that is giving you what you truly desire in life.

If you are unsatisfied or unhappy with the results in your life, then the best action to take is to change the source of your inner talk.

If you ever want to know what someone’s inner talk is, all you have to do is look at their life and how they act. Everything about each person is a direct expression of that inner talk. Our lives, and how we live them, give us away.

If you want to improve your health and fitness, you must create a new vision of what it means to be healthy and fit. This will become your new and improved talk within your subconscious. Once it is fixed in your brain, you will consistently begin to think, feel, and act in accordance with your new talk. You will walk the talk of this new vision of yourself.

Do you desire greater health and wellness for your life? If you truly wish to start living your life to its fullest and healthiest, then it’s time to create a new talk and to start walking it.

This is a very exciting step, and I would love to help you with it.

Can You Laugh At Yourself?

October 24, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

Fotolia_55328154_Subscription_XXLHealth and fitness-related issues can often come across as serious topics. It takes a committed decision to step up, and to create a lifestyle that is the catalyst toward major changes.

Part of that lifestyle change is the decision to take responsibility for your own health. Part of this is doing your utmost to follow through with your health and fitness goals.

We all have a tendency to buckle in to those feelings of self-criticism when we fall short of following through with our fitness goals. We beat ourselves up for not trying harder. We wish that we were stronger in resisting those temptations to consume those foods that end up damaging our bodies. We think less of ourselves, and this can stir up old patterns of self-doubt and unworthiness. It is during these moments that we need to remain positive, and focus on our goals.

This is a time when we should learn to laugh at the challenges we face on a daily basis! When we see ourselves in a humorous light, we diffuse the power of self-defeating thoughts and feelings that can cripple our ability to grow and advance as healthy, happy human beings.

Allow me to offer one example of how laughing at a situation helped to conquer my food cravings, while turning the whole process into a game.

There are many times when I’m shopping for food and suddenly think, “Man, I would love some ice cream with a piece of pie!” My favorite is pumpkin pie…but everybody has their own button. It is during these moments that I do everything I can to not think about my cravings. I must admit, those cravings can be too hard to resist!

As a way of overcoming this situation, I make sure to have my shopping basket filled with the foods I truly need. I stay away from the aisles that carry poor quality foods that I know I should avoid.

If my cravings are especially intense, I make a game out of my shopping experience. I take this opportunity to boldly stand in front of the ice cream case. I focus on it all and think, ‘if I were to have this sweet treat tonight, what would be the best treat to select?’ I read the labels of every yummy morsel, and I then find the one that calls to me, and put it in my basket. This makes it easier to finish my shopping. Yet, all the while I feel as if I have my favorite, treat waiting for me. By the time I’m ready to check out, I have overcome my desire for the treat, and I have put the ice cream and pie back on the shelf.

Instead of becoming frustrated, and falling into a place of self- judgment, I find a way to laugh at myself, at my old programing, and make a game out of it all!

There are times when we goof up, and allow our old way of thinking to get the better of us. When this happens, learn to laugh at yourself. Get on with creating the life you truly desire. Don’t fall into the trap of self-judgment and unworthiness.

The more you can laugh at your old programing foibles, the faster you will create the health and wellness you desire.

Would you like to understand how these old programs sabotage all your efforts to create the health and fitness you desire?

I would love to help you on your journey of health and wellness.

Stacking The Odds In Your Favor

October 10, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

DF2Fall is upon us once more. And so it begins that, with summer over and the days getting shorter, we wish to ease into more consistent actions that create personal health and fitness.

Unfortunately, with the cooler weather and holidays approaching, many will begin taking in sweets and junk foods and the like. Along with this first insult to the body systems, some folks will allow the busier schedule of the holiday season to be yet another reason for slacking off on their exercise.

In all, these misplaced actions send the body into a tailspin. The body is not able to keep up with the onslaught of over-eating, eating poor quality foods, and not getting the exercise or sleep that the body actually craves at this time!

The final result is that after January 1st, the reckoning time comes when you look at yourself in the mirror and admit you need to do something about how awful you feel. ‘Where did those extra ten to fifteen pounds come from,’ you naively ask? It is as if you didn’t want to take responsibility for your actions through the holiday season by pleading ignorance.

It’s as if you’re standing in front of your subconscious saying, “I swear your honor, I didn’t know that eating all those extra sweets, and fatty foods, and alcohol, along with not doing my exercise, was going to put on all this weight and make me feel so horrible!”

Now that we have imagined what will happen if you allow yourself to let go, let’s design some simple steps to keep you, not only on track with your health and fitness, but also accelerate your results.

How would it feel if, on January 2nd, you looked in the mirror and saw a lean, healthy, strong and vibrant body?

I know exactly what you would feel. You would have such a sense of accomplishment and pride in yourself for sticking to your guns and doing what you knew was right.

Let’s stack the odds in your favor so that you have this amazing experience come January 2nd.

  1. Get very clear on what you want your body and health to be like. It does not matter where you start. Write your goals down and put them in the present tense as if you already have it right now.
  2. Every morning, afternoon and evening you will take 5-10 minutes to visualize what a healthy body feels like as if you already have it.
  3. Make a list of the simple actions you must take to assure you don’t get caught off guard.
  4. Prepare all meals ahead of time for daily consumption. You could even make everything in one weekend and freeze some of it!
  5. Make sure to bring food with you to work and play.
  6. Bring 2-3 quarts of filtered water with you every day. Make sure to drink it.
  7. Get quality sleep – Bed by 10pm, wake at 6am.
  8. Exercise everyday – even if you only have time for walking.
  9. Always eat before going out to a party so that you are not tempted to eat all the high carb, fatty, sodium and sugar filled foods.
  10. When you find your thoughts drifting to negative ideas, recognize that they are only a product of past experiences. Now is the time for you to create a new reality in which you are in control of your thoughts, feelings and actions.

Remember you must take responsibility to create this healthy, fit, vibrant life. You already have all it takes. It is now time to use your God-given abilities to see that the autumn season is actually a new beginning!

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!

Believing Is Seeing

September 12, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

fotolia_18145709_Subscription_LThat’s right. I’ve lost my mind again. Shouldn’t the title of this article read, “Seeing is believing”?

Well, only if you need to prove something that is already in the past. The idea of merely seeing in order to believe comes across as old news now. What we should always choose is the act of believing, which will ultimately leads to “seeing.” This is especially true when we are creating the health and fitness we desire in our lives.

You see, part of the spirit, mind and body connection is becoming aware that anything you desire in life should first begin as a consistent thought filled with emotion.

The health and fitness you desire can only take shape if you place your thoughts and emotions within that construct consistently. You have to dream big, and feel as if you are already living with this dream of complete health.

When you do this, the idea is engrained into your subconscious mind. This, in turn, becomes your belief. If you believe you already are this healthy, fit body in your subconscious, then all of your daily thoughts and actions will guide you to making it a reality!

All of this happens with much less effort and frustration then if you had attempted to use sheer will to create the health you desired.

Your level of awareness becomes one of a healthy, fit person. It literally becomes a part of who you are.

Perhaps you are stuck or struggling with your health and fitness right now. Maybe you can’t seem to find the motivation to do anything except hope somehow your health will magically improve on its own?

That is the level of awareness at which you exist right now. In order for you to raise your level of awareness, you must become the person you desire to be. To become this desired person you must allow yourself to believe this person already exists!

Most people would say I am putting the cart before the horse, but in fact I am not.

I have worked with plenty of clients who, once they have embraced this first step, have been able to overcome all the obstacles and self-sabotage that stopped them in the past.

I would gently offer this thought. What you have believed and done in the past has not given you the results you desire. Does it make sense to continue to believe and do the same thing again and expect a better result? How can that possibly be effective?

It is time to claim the health and fitness you deserve. Begin to create that dream body and health you have always desired. Create it in your mind first, and make it so real and exciting that it drives you to do what is needed in order to create it.

Here’s a good example. In computer terminology you must write the software before the computer can make it happen. The computer is a servant to the software that is installed. You must install the software of your dream body and health into your subconscious. Then you’re subconscious will awaken within you your potential to make it happen!

I received an email today form a client with whom I have been working for several months.

She mentioned that, up until recently, she had not been able to see beyond what she had always seen in the mirror. She felt she was unattractive, unworthy of being loved, and overweight. She couldn’t even pass by a mirror or walk by a store window without looking away. I am sure we can, to some degree, understand that her software was one of being un-loveable.

As we began to work together, we decided to “write a new software” for her. It was one filled with her dream body and life. At first she couldn’t grasp the concept, but she kept visualizing. As the weeks went on she did her exercises and ate only healthy food. Suddenly, the weight began to come off at the rate of about two pounds per week!

Even with everything going well, she still had moments of disbelief. This was only because she was so used to her old way of thinking. We pushed on, focusing only on her dream body and life. Weeks turned into months, and now, after three months she sees her dream body in the mirror.

She has come to see beyond what the mirror is reflecting, and can now visualize her potential to make things happen. More importantly, she now believes she is already the person she has always desired to be. Now her body only needs to undergo the process of catching up.

This client went from being unable to believe, to understanding the power of her subconscious, and then becoming the person she has always desired.

Do you think you are different from this woman? Do you believe that your circumstances are more challenging? I would tell you they are not.

I always have clients proving to me that anyone, no matter what their conditions, can overcome all obstacles of the past and achieve the health and dream body they have always desired.

I know you are someone who will do the same.

I am here to help you on this journey.

I wish for you Vibrant Health!
