You Have To Do The Basics

August 8, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

fotolia_293572_Subscription_LAre you still trying to figure out why you are not getting the results you want in your health and fitness? You probably feel like you’ve tried every program out there. You’ve  restricted calories, taken every boot camp available, tried running yourself to death, drank shakes till they are coming out your ears, and still you’ve had no lasting results.

Oh, sure you took some of the weight off, and got a little stronger, maybe even had some relief from the chronic pain you deal with. But, you still haven’t been able to achieve the body and health you are so hoping to have.

What else is there to try? How about that new kind of exercise program that’s on T.V., or a new class they are promoting. Even better, I hear there is a new diet that you only drink the juice from a tree found in the Amazon.

Can I say something here? Please don’t.

I know the way you feel. It’s so frustrating setting a goal of losing weight and increasing your fitness but not knowing where to turn. The motivation hits you and you want to run with it. What should you do though? You don’t want to do the same things you’ve done in the past like starve yourself and workout till you can’t move.

I dealt with this quite a bit when I was first starting off. I just tried to do what everyone else was doing. I would get hurt or not get results. I tried everything I heard would work. I would lift heavy. Then I tried lifting light. I tried eating mass quantities of food, then low fat, high carbs. After that I tried high protein, low carbs. Then I fell victim to taking this supplement and that supplement.

It got to the point that I didn’t feel I knew what I was doing. In reality I didn’t. I hadn’t learned about the basics of health yet.

Trying to figure out how to create real health and fitness in my life seemed too big of a challenge. There was too much to know. I would need a team of health practitioners to take care of me. Just like a professional athlete who has several team practitioners there to design every part of a workout and eating and lifestyle. No wonder so many of us give up before we even start.

I’m here to tell you it doesn’t need to be confusing or hard. All that we have to do is get back to the basics.

Believe it or not, as complex as we are, health, fitness, and wellness are not at all hard to create for yourself. You don’t need fancy gym equipment, or special supplements, or a team of practitioners. All you need are the six components to health and wellness.

These six components will give your spirit, mind, and body all that is needed to heal and create health, fitness, and wellness.

You are already doing them every day. The only challenge is that you have never learned how to do them correctly to bring about health and wellness. Without knowing it you have been sabotaging your health and fitness by not taking full advantage of these components.

Did you think I was going to reveal some hidden secret for health and wellness or the newest way to get your body in shape?

Well in a sense I am. I am telling you that health, fitness, and wellness require basic inputs in the right amount and in the right way. Those last two are the secret. In the right amount and in the right way.

You have these three amazing instruments but you have been using them ineffectively. Those instruments are your spirit, mind, and body. Each one comes with a simple yet very effective set of directions for optimum results in health, fitness, and well-being, along with love, happiness, and wealth.

As my high school algebra teacher Mr. Landers would say “ It so simple it’s slippery”.

Creating health, fitness, and well-being in your life is simple. All that is required is the deep desire and the will to implement these six simple components.

Any of you who have been following my articles, blogs, podcasts, and videos are well aware of these six components. They are your thoughts (self Image), breathing, hydration, nutrition, exercise, and sleep.

Within these six components lie the keys to the kingdom of health, fitness, and wellness.

It’s time to get back to the basics!

Are you ready to jump into integrating these components and start feeling the results?

Let’s do this together. You can go to here and watch a complimentary webcast I made for you all on the six components.

I am here to support you on your journey.

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!

You Must Practice Before It Will Integrate

July 25, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

Just last night I was sitting at my desk finishing up a podcast, and I was speaking about how “you must practice before it will integrate.” I was trying to help clients understand that lasting results only come with dedicated practice. With dedicated practice, the mind and body will integrate any actions or thoughts into a set of patterns that eventually become second nature. The mind and body will integrate thoughts and/or actions into its normal way of thinking and moving.

Fotolia_105312_Subscription_LTake the example of playing the piano. One must consistently practice in order to develop into a highly skilled piano player. You need to practice your scales first, and then move up to playing a complete set of music. All along the way your mind and body become more and more familiar as to what fingers to use, where to place them, and in what combination and sequence.

This can, at first, be quite challenging. Every time you sit at the piano the mind and body have to be reminded about proper finger placement, rhythm and so on. Thankfully, as time progresses the mind and body learn what is expected. The placement of your hands and fingers become so natural, you can actually feel the music as it moves from your body to express itself in the piano. Playing happens almost simultaneously with your thoughts about the notes. You have practiced so much that your mind and body have integrated the process of playing the piano as naturally as breathing.

This concept of “Entrainment” happens with every thought and consequential action you take. Your thoughts, feelings and actions are, in a greater sense, all entrained within your subconscious. As I have mentioned several times, it is your self-image, seated within your subconscious, that determines much of what you think and do.

Before any of this solidified as your self-image, it had to be entrained.

We either consciously or subconsciously accept thoughts and experiences as true. When this is repeated over and over it will become entrained. My focus here is on this repetition of your own thoughts.

When you begin to understand the power of this repetition, you can use it to your advantage. Just like becoming a highly skilled piano player, you can become whatever you desire, through repetition.

I will always direct our conversations toward health, fitness and wellness, but realize this works for anything in your life.

I urge you to practice your new self-image until it integrates into your subconscious in a way that it becomes natural. With practice, you will allow yourself to take on that healthier, happier image you have always desired!

Easy-peasy…right? Well, it can be quite easy once you begin to practice. In a sense, you have to practice the practicing. You have to become accustomed to your new self – image of health, fitness and wellness. This really is no different than learning to play the piano.

This practice is an acquired skill that results from consistent repetition.

If you truly wish to be healthy, you will finally embrace the value of practicing a healthy lifestyle. You will actually practice consistently eating well, exercising, drinking water, getting the proper amount of sleep, conditioning your thoughts, and breathing correctly.

These are the 6 Components to Health and Wellness that we have learned together!

You may now be saying, “why does David keep bringing up these six components?” It is because I care about you. Really, I do! I am conditioning you through repetition, so that these components become engrained into your thought process. This will allow you to more easily integrate these six components into your life.

I am your coach and your confidant. I know it can be a bit daunting to venture down the path of health, fitness and overall well being. Through years of studying what it takes to truly be completely well I also know that, with practice, anyone can obtain optimum health and wellness.

With consistent repetition you will naturally become that healthy, fit and sound individual. You will become a person who actually enjoys eating well, exercising, and obtaining enough water and sleep. You will greatly benefit from conditioning your thoughts through proper breathing and mediation techniques.

This new and improved self- image will be entrained into your subconscious. You will actually live like this without thought or effort, just like you are living right now as the person you are. At the moment, you don’t consciously consider what type of person you are…do you? Of course not! This is because, over the years, the current image you have of yourself has become entrained into your subconscious.

Would you like to recreate your image, and forge this incredible path taking you to health, fitness, and complete wellness?

Would you like to be filled with vibrant energy and vitality?

Take the first step, and reach out to me. I would love to help.

I wish for all of you Vibrant Health!

Shortcuts Only Give Short Results

June 27, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

dave_061--1It would be a fantastic life if all the shortcuts we heard about actually worked. In reality very few ever give the results they promote, and so it goes with the health and wellness industry.

Yes, sadly, the health & fitness industry has a tendency to take advantage of quick fixes. Take this pill, follow this diet, do this workout, and all will be well, you won’t even have to break a sweat.

I’m sorry folks, but the body doesn’t work that way, not when it comes to lasting, long- term health. The body is designed to heal itself when given the basics of health and wellness, and there is no cheating it.

The way to health and wellness may not be wrapped up in some high intensity, glamorous, infomercial with hot bodies showing their results, but it works, it works every time, and it is the way our body’s are designed.

Tried and true, the body responds well with proper nutrition, quality sleep, hydration, quality breathing, exercise, and a proper mindset.

A majority of health issues can be resolved when the body is given the time and basic inputs to heal itself. This can’t be done with pills or quick fixes.

Most people turn to quick fixes out of confusion and despair. They feel they have nowhere else to turn. They feel they’ve tried everything. They are filled with frustration and doubt. When they hear of products or services that will give the results they desire, they fall prey to the quick fix.

Some of these shortcuts, or quick fixes are fat burners, thermogenetics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, diuretics, antacids, anti-histamines, and cholesterol lowering drugs, high blood pressure meds,  antidepressants, and the list goes on.

Please understand I believe there is a time and place for the ethical use of some of these drugs under the supervision of a doctor. However, most are over used because we would rather not have to take a long-term approach to healing our bodies. In most cases, many of us feel it is easier to take a pill than put in the effort to clean up our eating, drink more water, start an exercise program, get quality sleep, breathe deep, and condition our minds.

We live in a world that expects instant gratification. We feel we shouldn’t have to work for, or put forth any energy, or time for the results we desire as long as we can pay someone else to do it for us.

Health and wellness comes as a result of a lifestyle, a lifestyle that follows the components of health and wellness. There are no shortcuts.

Short cuts have a way of catching up to us. They never solve the issue, they just put it off.

Don’t fall prey to short cuts. Live a life of health and wellness. If you don’t know what that means then reach out and ask. Take the time to know. I am here to help you on this journey,

I wish for you Vibrant Health!

Creating Happiness Through Health

June 16, 2014 by Dave Fresilli

DF1Imagine what it would feel like to live a life of happiness, health, and well-being. Can you do that? Can you close your eyes and let yourself go to a time and place where you feel amazing vitality, strength, and a true sense of peace and happiness?

This is where it all starts. Right from where you are. No matter what is going on in your lives. Right here, right now, is the time to start the process of creating health and happiness for tomorrow.

What do you have in your life that you can be thankful for right now? There is so much you can’t even imagine. You just have to recognize it and stop rejecting it. Being present in this moment for what you do have will begin to bring more experiences into your life to be thankful for.

Yes, I am talking about gratitude. Since our time together is focused on health, fitness, and wellness, I will speak in those terms.

Maybe you don’t have the energy, body shape, health, or sense of well-being you are desiring; however, you still have plenty to be grateful for. See what you do have to work with as a gift, and take and mold yourself into someone spectacular.

Can you walk? Can you move your body? Are you able to put food on the table that is nutritious? Can you schedule time for exercise, meditation, and family? Do you have someone who will support and encourage you? (Yes you do; I am just a phone call away!)

Part of creating happiness in your life is creating health and fitness in your body.

When your body is strong and filled with vitality, you feel so much more confident and self empowered. You have the energy to step beyond the day’s normal activities and start following your passions.

When your body is healthy and strong, you are capable of so much more, and your spirit guides your thoughts into the expression of your full potential.

It is so true: “When you have your health, you have everything. When you do not have your health, nothing else matters at all.” Augusten, Burroughs

I have personally worked with many very successful people who were in such a state of pain and physical dysfunction that they could not see clear to feel happy or grateful for all that they had. Their lack of health pulled them down into fear and despair. Yet as we worked together, and as they began to create health and wellness, their enthusiasm for life returned, and they realized how precious health is to happiness.

Happiness comes out of a healthy spirit, mind, and body. We must give ourselves the spiritual, mental/emotional, and physical nutrition needed so we can radiate happiness from every cell in our body.

Spiritually, we must recognize we are the universal consciousness, or God, and we are here to live a life of abundance, happiness, and health. Then we need to claim this for ourselves by believing it and knowing we are capable of anything we can imagine.

Mentally/emotionally, we must focus our attention on knowing and feeling ourselves as that which we desire to be. When our thoughts and emotions drift towards the negative, we should recognize this and refocus our attention on our desires.

Physically, we must give our bodies abundant deep breathing, plenty of clean water, nutritious foods, the right amount of exercise, and plenty of sleep.

Happiness comes with a simple recipe: Love yourself enough to give your spirit, mind, and body what it needs in order to be healthy and to flourish.

By doing so, you will live a life that most will only dream of.

You deserve this, you know? You deserve to be happy, healthy, and well. No one outside of yourself can give this to you. You not only hold the key, but you are the key.

Unlock your potential of happiness, health, and wellness by starting today.

I am here to help you on this journey.

I wish for you Vibrant Health!
